Anwaar AlMahmeed

Anwaar AlMahmeed is President of Nanotronics and sits on the board of its subsidiary, Cubefabs, which she co-founded. Previously, she led Republic.co’s MENA region as Managing Director, overseeing the platform’s integration of private market assets with the latest web 3 technologies.

Earlier, Anwaar co-founded East Chain Co., a venture capital firm focused on blockchain technology, and organized The East Chain Open Hub (ECOH), an international conference convening experts to discuss the opportunities, risks, and regulations associated with distributed technologies.

Before founding East Chain Co., Anwaar supported the privatization of Boursa Kuwait as Product Development Manager. Her career began in 2011 with the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) training program, where she interned at State Street’s Financial Securities division and later joined KIA’s Hedge Fund Department. Over her five years with KIA, Anwaar served on the board of the National Technology Enterprises Company in Kuwait, trained at Man FRM, AHL, and GLG in New York and London, and has been a CFA Charterholder since 2015.
